“I understood at a very early age that in Nature, I felt everything I should feel in church but never did. Walking in the woods, I felt in touch with the universe and with the spirit of the universe.” Alice Walker
I didn't know all of this was taking place when I used to walk a wooded trail at Thomas Mitchell Park. Thank you and I will get a copy of the book to send to my granddaughter who is a teacher of second graders in Manhatten, KS.
I do not have such a "garden", I have fruit trees, not many but a few. Each spring, I watch the leaves and blossoms come out of the branches as with magic . Where to they come from? How does it work? To me it is if I am here, on the first day of creation, to witness the magic.

I love your immensely powerful exhortation -- "If your library doesn’t have a copy, donate one."
Beautiful. And Peter Wohlleben is the best. The caretaker and commuicator of the Wood Wide Web
Thank you! This makes my poison ivy worthwhile! Do you have Mayapples?

Thank you, Christie!
